Proven Leadership. Clinical Expertise. Strategic Perspective.
For more than three decades, I have worked where leadership, human behavior, and organizational performance intersect. My career has spanned military leadership, behavioral healthcare, federal executive leadership, private clinical practice, graduate education, and executive advising. Those experiences have led me to one consistent conclusion:
Organizations rarely struggle because they lack technical expertise. More often, they face challenges when human factors go unrecognized, unmanaged, or underestimated.
Leadership decisions, organizational culture, workplace conflict, burnout, psychological injury, and communication failures all influence performance, resilience, and long-term success.
Welsh Executive Risk Advisory was founded to help organizations recognize those risks early, strengthen leadership, and build healthier, more resilient organizations.

Federal Healthcare Executive
I currently serve as a Senior Federal Healthcare Executive within the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, leading national initiatives that support clinician education, accreditation, quality improvement, and organizational performance across one of the nation's largest integrated healthcare systems.
My work involves collaboration with leaders across 170+ VA medical centers and national offices to strengthen learning, leadership, development and patient care outcomes.

Military Leadership
Before entering behavioral healthcare, I served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army.
Leading soldiers in demanding operational environments taught me that leadership is about people, accountability, preparation, and making sound decisions under pressure. Though the challenges of today's organizations look different from military operations, the principles of effective leadership remain remarkably similar.

The greatest risks organizations
face are rarely technical -
they are almost always human.

Why Organizations Seek My Perspective
Organizations engage Welsh Executive Risk Advisory when they are navigating complex human challenges that have the potential to become organizational risks
Clinical Perspective.
Executive Insight.
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified EMDR Therapist, I have spent more than three decades helping individuals navigate trauma, resilience, high-pressure environments, leadership stress, workplace conflict, and complex behavioral challenges.
That clinical background provides a perspective rarely found in traditional management consulting. Understanding how people think, respond to stress, make decisions, communicate, and influence organizational culture allows leaders to address problems at their source rather than simply managing their consequences.

Educating Future Leaders
Since 2002, I have served as graduate faculty, helping educate the next generation of behavioral health professionals in clinical practice, ethics, leadership, supervision, and professional development.
Teaching has reinforced an important lesson: the strongest leaders never stop learning. Whether in the classroom, the boardroom, or on stage, I translate complex behavioral science into practical strategies that drive real-world results.

Why the Welsh Dragon?
The Welsh Dragon has long symbolized courage, vigilance, resilience, and protection. Those same principles guide the work of Welsh Executive Risk Advisory.
The dragon represents the strength to confront difficult challenges with confidence, the vigilance to recognize emerging risks before they become crises, and the resilience required to lead organizations through change.
For me, it is far more than a logo. It reflects a commitment to helping leaders build stronger organizations through informed leadership, thoughtful decision-making, and a deeper understanding of the human factors that ultimately shape organizational success.

My Commitment
Every organization deserves leadership that is informed, ethical, and prepared for complexity. My commitment is to bring decades of leadership, behavioral health expertise, and executive leadership experience to every engagement with professionalism, integrity, and discretion.
Whether advising a senior executive, supporting legal counsel, or speaking to organizational leaders, my goal is always the same: to help organizations make better decisions by better understanding the people who shape them.
